Saving Our Earth One Change at a Time
Global warming... who really knows. But we all know we need to do our part to save our earth. There is too much pollution and too much garbage going into our landfills. Here are a few easy and inexpensive project that will be helpful to our environment.

Earth Friendly Changes

Switch out regular light bulbs for compact fluorescent lamp (CFL), also known as compact flourescent light bulbs. The CFL bulbs use about 75% less energy and produce about 75% less heat so it can help save on your air conditioning too. They last about 10 times longer than a regular light bulb and can save approximately $30 over the lifetime of the bulb.
Use canvas bags for your groceries instead of plastic or paper. I don't want to chance bacteria from meats and vegies, so I use different color bags for different grocery purchases. All my bags are easily tossed into the laundry and they come out clean and sanitized for the next use.
Plan your outings on errand day so you use less gas. Less gas not only saves you money, but it's that much less pollution in the air. You can also run your errands along with a friend and plan to go grocery shopping with a friend. Take turns on who drives, the point is, less air pollution.
Switch out your gas power lawn tools for electric or manual. You can also use a reel lawn mower - human powered. It is great exercise!

Stop buying bottled water in containers less than 1 gallon. Buy a reusable water bottle and refill it with filtered tap water.
    Check out freecycle.org
"It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free."
Check back... I'll be adding more information soon! Thanks!
