Ready for Easter?

Posted in Family at 11:05 pm by lilbitgabby

I’m not. I’m not going to get ready for Easter this year.  Mom and I are still fighting off this flu bug. At least my headache is gone. I think I mentioned we moved Mom into Brandon’s empty bedroom last Saturday evening. Right now we are watching the Ten Commandments. It’s on so late this year, I might not stay up for the next 45 minutes… why couldn’t they put it on earlier in the day.

Brandon made it to Andrea’s last night. He called me pretty late to let me know he was there.

T-man just got back from the track meet in Yakima. It sounds like he had fun. And best of all he PRd!

Well, it’s late, and I think I’m giving up on this movie. We have the video around here somewhere…. and if I can’t find it, it’s not like I don’t know how it ends.

Happy Easter!

The Unspoken

Posted in Family at 5:17 pm by lilbitgabby

Some things are just better left unsaid. But you know me. I always have a lot to say, even when I should just keep quiet about things. Well. I’ll tell ya this much…

First of all, dear hubby and I are going through a lot in our lives right now. I know we’ve created a lot of our own problems. I often think, Oh Lord… I’m listening. I’m done. I’m learning my lesson. You can move onto another family for a little while. Apparently that isn’t the way it works. Or apparently I really haven’t learned my lessons.

Well, yesterday was really one of those days where if I didn’t laugh till I was crying, I would have been crying until I sobbing.

I’m not sure what I’m suppose to learn from everything going on in my life. I really don’t get it. I started to say to one of my kids… things can’t get much worse than they are right now. But I caught myself. Of course things can get worse.

We ended the day with a light dinner with good friends. For that I’m thankful. As for the rest of the day… well…

History Class Project

Posted in Scrapbooking & Paper Crafts at 4:30 pm by lilbitgabby

Imagine having a class project where your options were to write a paper about where our family was during the great depression, or create a scrapbook. I wasn’t too surprised when T-man chose to work on a family scrapbook album. We managed to locate several wonderful old photos of family. I scanned them, and had them printed at Walmart.

T-man’s project turned out absolutely beautifully. I’m really impressed with what he did. Apparently his teacher was too…

Here are a couple of pages of the album documenting the dust storm back in the 1930s.

The photos were taken my Great Uncle.

I have linked to the full album on my photo albums page - see the side bar of this blog for the link.

Reminding Myself I Have a Thousand Reasons to Smile

Posted in Family at 3:01 pm by lilbitgabby

When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.

For starters, Lord Willing, this next fall, we will have seven babies in our little assembly! Babies under the age of two! How amazing is that…
