We’ve been having issues with a fruit fly. As you know, there is never just one fruit fly. I’ve cleaned and cleaned and yet, there they are. Buzzing around the kitchen. Dead on the counter around the sink. YUK.
It’s a constant battle of spraying the fruit flies and wiping up every few minutes.
We took the bananas out of the house. The fruit is all in the fridge. Where could they be breeding?
So yesterday, I was sorting some of my FIL’s stuff. I took down some of the empty apple boxes we have stacked in the dining room. As I was taking out the packing, there it was… a dead apple. Home to the fruit flies.

Well, the day before Brandon left, we brought all the stuff home from storage. Apparently it was a bigger storage unit than I thought it was. I had sorted and got rid of much of this stuff the first few days. Then I got sick and we moved mom in, because she’s sick. Now that I’m feeling a bit better, I have this huge task in front of me. Sorting through my FIL’s stuff.
Now I’m thinking, just toss it. I’d love it if someone else would step up to the plate and do it. That didn’t happen when I was too sick to get out of bed. I don’t see it happening now. I’m thinking outloud here… why is this my duty to do this sorting of my FILs stuff? Why do I have to be the one to figure out what to do with all of his things?
We got rid of so much during the initial sort. Where did this stuff all fit into his little apartment? Oh my… One huge task is to be followed by an even bigger task… I’m just trying to get myself mentally prepped for this.

I thought I’d share this, simply because I thought it was way too funny to let it pass. Of course, I’m easily entertained….
A few minutes ago T-man was coming down the stairs in his bare feet and stepped in a puddle of water. He asked what the puddle of water was from. I had no idea. I asked him to mop it up.
With mop in hand… ”Oh… the plants melted”
I had to see this for myself. Sure enough. I had 2 cyclamens sitting there just inside the door… We brought them in from the freezing cold earlier this evening. I was hoping they would survive my abuse. Apparently they have melted.
I know. Not too terribly funny. “Oh… the plants melted.” And I sit here giggling.

Oh I know, most of you probably had your tree down the week after Christmas. But I really enjoy having my tree up for at least a month. So today I got up and took out all the boxes to pack up Christmas.
It’s much more of a chore than I remember. I wonder if I want to keep all this stuff. But of course, you know I do. So it is wrapped and nestled into boxes… well half of it is. This a work in progress…
Right now I have a naked tree standing in front of the windows. It’s not a real pretty sight. So much to do… there is church tonight… so little time to get it all done.
