Not a lot to update… we are sick. Have been for awhile. Ick. Yuck. Not all of us at once. Isn’t that the way it goes? Get a sickness that lasts for what seems like forever, and then get it one or two at a time… at least there are only five of us in the house now days. Ready to be done with this.
I’m off to sip tea… and check on a sick kid before I head to bed.

I missed my baby snuggles on Friday. Baby and his mommy went to Omak for a bridal shower. We invited Aaron and the boys over for dinner, but they had other plans. We had bbq ribs for dinner. Mmmm… yummy! All I can say is, they missed out on a great meal.
Drew had a birthday over the weekend. We all went out for his birthday dinner on Sunday. Crab was on the menu… yummy! I can’t even tell you how much crab, clams, and shrimp my family ate. I can feel it today… my diet today will consist of water LOL
Okay, break time is over… I’m back to sorting and flinging.

Friday and Saturday we were at the all star games for our step grandson. His team came in second place. They won on Friday night. Saturday night, the team lost, but he made an awesome catch. Fun-fun-fun… baseball in the rain.
Father’s day was nice this year. We went to the kids house to celebrate along with extended family. I baked a big salmon, yum. We stopped by to see how my Uncle was doing. It was extremely emotional for my boys. Brandon was out of town so he hadn’t seen Uncle this ill. We stayed pretty late, just sitting there in the quiet. Hubby spent the night to help take care of him.
Monday was a long day. I don’t know what made it a long day, but it was. In the afternoon we had a recognition ceremony to attend. It was in honor of my 11 year old step grandson. After that we went to the kids house for a fish fry. I know. Fried! But it was so good! Brandon had gone deep sea fishing on Saturday and he brought back a bunch of fish fillets. He caught 14 fish. How fun is that! Well, he was fishing with Ashley, her dad, brothers, cousins, and uncles. Hmmmm… how fun was that? LOL *just kidding* Actually, he did have fun. They didn’t give him too bad a time.
Earlier in the evening we got on the baby-cam with the babies. It was bedtime for both babies, so we didn’t stay online long, but it was fun while it lasted.
So anyway, we had fried fish. I found a recipe on recipezaar.com, posted by Mysterygirl, for Long John Silver’s fried fish batter. It’s a highly rated - reviewed recipe and it is good. Dinner was on the table fairly late because of the hectic schedules our family has, but it was relaxing. We sat around the table visiting for a long time. I love nights like that.
Tonight was just relaxing… we didn’t go anywhere.
Birthday wishes to Andrea and Anniversary wishes to Aaron and Lisa….

Chris and Jennifer are babysitting part of the time while Mitch and Andi are in Hawaii. Saturday evening we got on the baby-cam with Chris, Jennifer, and baby girl. Oh Jennifer is so cute! Her little baby tummy is so adorable. She stood in the middle of the floor and struck a pose or two for us. It was funny and I was so thrilled to finally see her actually look like she’s going to have a baby in a few months!
It was fun sitting here visiting with Chris and Jennifer. They were having a lot of fun with baby girl. Chris was doing the puttering thing with his lips and she’d copy him. Well, when grandpa did it she looked right into the big screen tv, leaned forward as far as she could, and puttered right back at him. It was so funny! Her chubby baby cheeks are so cute. She’s so cute and chubby I want to reach out and squeeze her into my arms. I’m glad I have the baby-cam. It is the next best thing to being there. We disconnected just as baby girl was going to sleep for the night.
Our family room visit with Chris and Jennifer was the perfect ending to a gray rainy Saturday.
I don’t know what time Aaron & Lisa made it home, but the boys safely made it home around ten-ish last night. They said they had a great time. The purpose of the trip to Oregon was for a graduation and party for one of our friends. I wish we could have gone too. We didn’t go because we had visiting brethren in from Indiana for church on Sunday.
I’m so glad we stayed! Our Sunday meeting was very uplifting and our visitors from Indiana spent the afternoon with all of us. The visitors included an elderly married couple, and two elderly twin sisters. They are the sweetest people to have visit. We haven’t seen them in years, so it was wonderful spending our Sunday with them. The twins sense of humor is so cute, they are just fun to visit with. Every time I’ve seen them through the years they are dressed alike. They all saw our kids, Andi, Mitch, and baby girl last weekend when the kids were in Indiana for a wedding. Sometimes I think it’s a small world amongst our church.
As I wrap up here, It’s one of those days. My goodness, I miss my kids. Chris, Jennifer, Andi, Mitch, and the baby…. I can sit here and continue crying in the keyboard or I can go bury myself into my housework and thank God we have the ability to communicate with them as often as we do.
