"The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship."

    Friendship Is a Blessing
    Friendship is a blessing
it's the best you have to share,
    The talents and the wisdom,
    the capacity to care...
It's being there to lend support,
    whatever needs arise,
It's making sure that others know
    they're special in your eyes...

    Friendship is a blessing,
and, to all who have a friend,
It's one of the most precious gifts
    that life could ever send.

    Last Days of Summer
    Sunday, September 10, 2006
The last days of our summer are upon us. School has started, the leaves are changing colors, and the blackberries are almost all gone. All clear signs it's the end of summer.

Last weekend I managed to spend some quiet time sitting on a park bench next to the creek. It was amazing how still and beautiful it was during the early evening hours.

The boys and their friends played football in the big open field in front of the lodge we stayed in.

The gazebo was a favorite hang out for kids of all ages... when I took this photo the little kids were waiting in anticipation of the pinata.

The main lodge. Upstairs are the dorms... girls dorm on the right and the boys dorm on the left. Downstairs is where we all gather together with friends old and new. Some of the most amazing voices I've ever heard gather together for singings and rejoicing.
