Late at night
With the lights down low
I close my eyes
following my memories
way back in time
on a summer afternoon
my hand in yours
I said “I do”
When I meant I will…
Love you forever

There never seems to be enough time.
Not for quietly talking, us two,
Not for sleeping late,
waking up to secret kisses, or remembered dreams.
Not for simply being together,
simply in love, Never enough time.
And if we had all the time in the world,
it still would be far too little;
only eternity could hold enough sweet moments,
enough hours or days or years,
for loving you……. my wonderful companion

I’m thankful for the sunsets we’ve shared
I’m thankful for your commitment to me
I’m thankful that you like my silly giggling

I’m thankful for the disagreements we’ve had

I’m thankful for all these things
because that’s what has made me
who I am today… all these things make us
who we are and what our relationship is.

This was a love poem I wrote this for my husband for our 22nd  Valentine’s day together.
